Let's make better computers

Last week I launched makeabetter.computer, a tiny microgrants experiment that focuses on funding people and projects trying to improve computers and how we use them. The goal of the project was straight forward, find a handful of people doing interesting work and support their project with a small grant of $100-$500.

The application form has been live for just five days and we received over 60 applications for projects ranging from written series for building your own programming languages, exploring RISC-V and other hardware, to building software applications with noval interfaces. I plan to write more about this project in depth after it wraps up.

As of Sunday, May 30thLoading..., We've closed the application form for now as we review the applications and look for additional grant contributors and sponsors. I'd love to find a way to sustain this project and continue providing grants to people working in this space.
